You’ll find community shops dotted across the islands. They are an essential part of island life and act as a great meeting point for locals as well as being an important hub for the community. You’ll find local news, events and information here so you can keep up-to-date with what’s on in the area, as well as a well-stocked shop.

A trip to the local community shop is a must during your visit to the Outer Hebrides. They’re a great place to stock up on everything you need for your stay, and are a treasure trove of local Hebridean products and produce. You’ll meet the locals, hear our Gàidhlig language being spoken, find out what’s going on in the area, but most importantly you’ll be supporting the local community.
